Hello everyone. I've updated the North American, Canadian and US rankings after the Vegas tournament. By my calculations, it had enough strength of field points to be a C-rated tournament, but it did not have enough players. So it was a D-rated event, meaning 30 points to the winner.

Hello everyone. The CTHA/USTHA rankings have been updated. So have the North American rankings. Reggie and Kent were the big movers due to their strong showings in Detroit at the SNAC.

Woulda posted sooner, but no 'net access at home Thursday (darn cable company) and worked late yesterday so didn't post 'em til around midnight. And today, I wanted to update the site even further, but the site host is down. Technology. But hey, it helped start the table hockey rebirth, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Anyway, you can check it out here:

Hello. The rankings pages have been updated after the Boston tournament.

Not a lot of changes...though Matt Rogers moved up due to his strong showing. The DiDomizios also were helped, as I recall. Only one Canadian update (the respected Mr. Reggie played in Boston), but it didn't change anything.

You can check it out here. Click on the NA rankings tab at the top...

As always, if you notice an error, please lemme know at byline302@yahoo.com and I'll fix it. That includes all you lurkers who read the heaven site, well, religiously, but don't post or register. : )

Hello. I've updated the North American, Canadian and US player rankings to reflect the Montreal Rose Bowl tournament from last weekend.

Note: to those who might be curious, the Montreal tournament had north of 350 strength points, which would make it a solid B-rated tournament. But because it did not draw the minimum amount of players, it was downgraded one level to a C-rated tournament. <new>: The number of players would have otherwise meant it was a D-level tournament.<end>

That rule, which I'd forgotten even existed until I looked at the web site, can be found here:

http://www.ustha.com/rules/TournamentStrengthofFieldInfo.html

Best,
Eric

Finally got the North American rankings update added to the rankings page. Did the Canadian and USA ones Monday night.

http://www.ustha.com/ranking/index.html

All of it following the Edmonton tournament. We'll do it again after Gatineau and then again after Binghamton. Then a nearly three-month hiatus until Vegas.

Hello. Just posted some news on the USTHA web site about the U.S. Stiga Shootout. Dr. Kevin Rafferty has pushed back the date due to a job change.

http://www.ustha.com

That leaves Pierre's Rose Bowl Classic VIII as the only remaining tournament on the North American tour for this tour year.

Best,
Eric

Hello all. I've updated the north american, usa and canadian rankings on the USTHA.com web site.

The rolling two-year ranking system means the 07 Montreal tournament finishes were replaced by the 09 Montreal placements. And the 2007 Boston and Southern California tournaments were removed (no Boston tournament this year). This year's North American Tour has concluded. Thanks to all who played in a tournament.

The Rose Bowl Classic VIII in Montreal had an A-level of strength of field (392 points, strongest on the tour this year, I think) but not the A-level number of players, so it was dropped down to a B, worth 50 points to winner Bjarne Axelsen of Denmark.

Working on the final touches of a slight revamp of the tournament rating system that won't upend things too much but also won't have such rigid benchmarks. More of an incentive-based system, I guess, but one that'll work with the current system too.

Best,
Eric

Hey gentlemen...USTHA web site updated with news of the Edmonton tournament this September...I've already signed up...join me and Reggie and Kent and Calgary Phillipe and all the EDM boys...

http://members.shaw.ca/ethl/Centennial_6/centennial.htm

United Airlines has this 2 for 1 airfare sale here to Edmonton (and many other Canadian cities):

http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,50140,00.html?jumpLink=%2Fcanadatrip

You have to call for it and book by July 5, unfortunately. And maybe it's only from Chicago, Denver or Dulles in D.C.?

Hi Eric,
How come you don't tell people that Kevin Rafferty's California Stiga always included a free Coleco Classic free trournament every year for the past 4 years?

Same question for USTHA regarding the Coleco Classic in Las Vegas, which you helped me in setting up the first time to make it the first Table Hockey event to be held in Las Vegas. Is there any purpose of misleading people?
with regards

AJ...even though you're clearly bucking for a fight by using loaded language like "misleading people," I'm not going to get into some message board battle with you because that would be silly.

The USTHA's primary mission is to promote Stiga table hockey. I believe you're looking for the ACTHF, which promotes classic games.

Best,
Eric

Hello. We updated the North American Tour rankings and posted them. The talented Mr. Pierre Chastenais with his fancy new computer was kind enough to send the pdfs late last night and I posted them just now.

That can be found here: http://www.ustha.com/ranking/index.html

Oops...someone with an eagle eye was kind enough to point out to me that Mr. Chargo's points don't add up. He's got 73, not 103. Must be a phantom Vegas leftover from a couple years ago. Affects both NA and USA rankings.

That's what I get for doing these things at 1 a.m....error(s).

We'll upfix at some point.
