Games - Eagle - Hockey Night In Canada (1962)

The charismatic Eagle Toys model with the magic name was a luxury model credited with introducing true behind the net play for the first time on a North American hockey game. Featuring one of Eagle's best and most straight forward slot patterns it allows close checking and dynamic game play all over the ice.

Prominent features include the colourful side art, distinctive turquoise metal corners, tinted end "glass" with goal lights, the unusual side crowd/scoreboard and removable puck dropper. The game was only available with Montreal and Toronto teams (white background) and an additional white player with a plastic clip to attach to another player for the "extra" man if the goalie was pulled (see inset in game photo). The goalies are the "roving" style not restricted to a slot, an Eagle innovation in the early 60's.
