Games - Men Of Steel Hockey (2002)

This is the second version introduced in February of 2002. Somewhat scaled down to permit FedEx shipping and more portability, this new model is still large by most table hockey standards. The mechanics and craftsmanship remain true to the first model with changes of a very aggressive slot pattern, full range goalie, a puck drop and a ramp behind the net (note that the ramp only appears in the very last photo as it was a late addition to the game).

Overall dimensions are 28” wide by 54” long by 38” high on the base. Ice surface is 26.5” by 46”. The players are laser cut steel one sixteenth of an inch thick. Ball bearing pucks are the standard on this game. Except for the base, no other assembly is required. Pricing was $750 for the game and $80 for the optional base.

Photos and description contributed by creator Charlie Parenteau.

Editors Note: The last Men Of Steel games were made in fall of 2003. The promotional video for this game can be seen HERE (6.70MB Quicktime file), and a video of this game being played can be seen HERE (15mb wmv File). Warning: there is some cursing in the second video :-). Both videos and others can be accessed through the Table Hockey Videos page on this site.
